Stars has been one of my favorite bands since forever, but giving my iPod a little throwback a few months ago, this particular Stars song really stuck with me.
Honestly, I guess the reason why I find fondness in this song so much is because there's something film noir about it. In every depiction I've ever seen about London there's always a red balloon present. Maybe I'm just thinking about that movie called The Red Balloon, but in all honestly it feels like the red balloon is the single item that ties every portrayal of Paris. Maybe it's a motif? Regardless, I can always see the red balloon. In a black and white film, I still see the red balloon. In a park, red balloon. Near the Eiffel Tower, red balloon. Heck, if I ever make it to the Eiffel Tower, I need to take my tourist photo with a red balloon. Instant must.
